Airwaves at Public Service 16. ágúst 2006 20:09 The Iceland Airwaves festival brings Icelandic music to the Public Service festival this weekend in Copenhagen. Public Service is one of the coolest music festivals in Scandinavia and the biggest in electronic music. Behind the festival are the P3 radio station and the Danish National Radio, the festival is also supported by the city of Copenhagen. The Icelandic bands Apparat Organ Quartet, Trabant, Unsound and the Djs Margeir and Alfons X will appear at the festival. In connection with the Public Service festival, during the week concerts and outdoor parties have been held in public gardens, clubs and cafés all over Copenhagen. The festival however, will officially be set this weekend and the programme goes from Thursday the 17th until Sunday the 21st of August, at the Danish National Radio headquarters; DR Byen at Orestad Nord. Three indoor stages and one outdoor stage have been put up. Airwaves intention at Public Service is to introduce Iceland Airwaves and Icelandic music to people in Copenhagen and the great number of Scandinavians that attend Public Service.
