Fashion designer Steinunn Sigurðardóttir's work is on display at the North Atlantic House in Copenhagen. The exhibition is a retrospective of Sigurðardóttir's twenty year long career. After studying at Parsons School of Design in New York, Sigurðardóttir went to work in the industry and was tutored by three of the most influential designers in high fashion; Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tom Ford at Gucci. From there she went on to work as La Perla's Design Director for their catwalk line. After two years at La Perla she founded her own company and her fall 2007 collection can be seen at the exhibition.

Her main skill is knitting and early on she showed exceptional talent in the field of knitwear. She usually makes her own material from scratch and creates new fabrics never seen before. Sigurðardóttir works out of her studio on Laugavegur 59 in Reykjavik and sells to Europe, Japan and USA. More information on her work can be found on www.steinunn.com. The exhibition is open until July 9th at the North Atlantic House on Strandgade 91 in Copenhagen. -hbv
